GARBAGE :
In support of waste reduction and increased recycling, composting and reusing, Town of Newmarket Council has adopted the recommendation that the current garbage limits of 4 bags residential and 8 bags commercial be reduced to 3 bags residential and 6 bags commercial as of July 1, 2002, beyond which a tag must be purchased for each bag.

Bag Tags (5 tags for $10) are available at the following locations:

• Town Municipal Offices 395 Mulock Drive, Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
• The Operations Centre, 623 Timothy Street, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
• Newmarket Public Library, 438 Park Avenue - Tuesdays to Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exact change or cheque only at Library.
• Ray Twinney Complex at 100 Eagle Street West. (3 month trial- most likely to be permanent), Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 12:00 noon to 3:30 pm

Bags should not be heavier than 50 lbs. and/or garbage cans not to exceed 24"w x 36"h and weighing not more than 50 lbs.
